Dare to dream a little dream ...

Hi everybody, I want to share with you a canvas card I created with my MOST favorite stamp from the Da Vinci Set.

Let me show you how I made this ...
I started with these items:

I cut a piece of 4 x" of sticky canvas and applied some white Gesso. I didn't go all the way to the edges since the canvas will take colour better without the Gesso. I coloured with Gelatos in Salmon, Yellow and Green.

This is what it looks like when you water it down:

I sprinkled some salt to add texture, with the salt still on:

.... and brushed off:

While it tried I distressed the edges ...

And that's when I stared goofing. I tried to add embossing paste with my Tim Holtz stencil and didn't realize that it wouldn't stick to my Gelato background :(
Ok, no harm done, I just washed it off, dried it again and used Peeled Paint Distress ink. (Sorry, no picture, too excited by my mistake)
I stamped my image on tissue and adhered it to the side of my canvas with just a bit of white Gesso underneath. I stamped my sentiment from the brand new "Affirmation" set and added it to my card.
A black panel underneath and glued to Soft Suede card stock. Ready :)

I hope you enjoyed my little tutorial. Make sure you stop over at the shop to look at all the beautiful new sets available ... also Christmas sets are available, also all new :)
Happy crafting ♥

12 Tags of 2015 .....

I really, really loved the way this background turned out. Too bad it's almost covered, but I will use this technique for some other projects.

I used an older PBS stamp and some ephemera to decorate my tag.

I enter this tag into the monthly Tag Challenge on the Tim Holtz blog!

Let's capture our memories ...

Another beautiful sketch at LCOM

I decided to use the Circles Background from Darkroom Door and the Spellbinders Birds for my card.

I colored with Koh-I-Noor pencils and washed them down with water a bit. The backpanel is embossed with a tiny dots folder. The sentiment is from Rubber Dance Stamps.

Happy weekend and have fun crafting ♥

Flowers at Irishteddys August challenge ♥

Here we go ..... I do love flowers!

I used my DRD frame stamp. You know I have an affinity for frames :)

I also used a Katzelkraft flower stamp with Distress Ink *Spiced Marmalade* and *Peeled Pint*. I created the background with Pan Pastels.

And last but not least my favorite Calico Birdies, aren't they too cute?

The back panel is embossed with the Sixxix Folder *Brick Wall* and I added some lace for curtains.

Let's capture our memories!

Such a neat sketch this time at our blog LCOM, I really loved this one.

Come on over and check it out, there is also an awesome sketch for layouts.

This is my take, using the *Love Musical* stamps from Rubber Dance Stamps, a word die from Sizzix and my hydrangea punch from Martha Stewart. The cute little hearts are the smallest on the Bigz die designed by Tim Holtz .....

I used a houndstooth embossing folder for the background.

Have a good weekend and I hope you find enough time to craft ♥
